DoorLoop is what you get when you rebuild Buildium from scratch in 2024 with a modern stack. The interface feels like Notion compared to Buildium's QuickBooks-era design language.
The standout is onboarding. Most landlords are collecting rent within an afternoon, including bank verification. DoorLoop's AI assistant for lease drafting and tenant screening is also further along than its competitors.
Limitations: accounting depth is improving but still trails Buildium for complex owner statements, and the cheapest plan caps you at 20 units which forces an upgrade earlier than expected.
How DoorLoop scores
AI features tested
- AI lease drafting
- Tenant screening summaries
- Smart maintenance triage
- Auto-generated owner reports
